Okay all. Using 2012, I have an existing surface about 81 acres. We are re-grading some areas. (the proposed surface looks like many pockets). I create a new surface, paste in my existing, and then paste in my proposed so I can have a "composite" surface (if you will). After pasting the 2 surfaces, C3D removes some of existing. Why? I have attached an existing, proposed and my end result of composite. In the composite, I have clouded the areas of missing contours. Any thoughts?

You may need to extract the proposed surface boundaries and add as breaklines to the composite before pasting the proposed surface in
neilyj (No connection with Autodesk other than using the products in the real world)

Thanks, I give that a try and let you know. Im so frustrated, I didn't see my subject line of pating instead of PASTING
If you have a blank area enclosed within a surface, when you paste it into another surface all of the surface within that blank area will be overwritten with the "blank" area. The solution for this is to either create tiny gaps in the surface so that there are no fully enclosed blank areas or break your surface into parts that prevents blank areas from appearing in the middle of the surface.
