Parcel

One of our engineers wants to know how to remove a parcel number that isn't
in use, but was used previously. This is in Civil 3d 2006

If it is not in use it should not be displayed. There should not be
anything to remove.

I had the same problem. When you delete parcels using the "official" work around of assigning label style none, the number is still used. I was not too far into the drawing yet, so I started over. Now I use the edit parcel > delete sub-entity to remove parcels. You might also try to renumber the offending parcel to something very high.

Ok...the picture attached shows a parcel (that is what Properties calls it anyway). I need to delete it, but nothing seems to work. Keep in mind I am just starting to use Civil 3D so I'm a babe in the woods here.

How do I get rid of the stupid thing? Delete alone doesn't work.

If you r/c on your leader and tell it to reset, it *should * go back into
the parcel as a number or whatever style it has. You can then click on this
number and delete it. That's the way you delete parcels - via its label.

Even that won't work if the parcel is a function of defining geometry. The
magic question is what do you want to get rid of? The parcel or just the
label? And why?

This is really why everyone suggests some level of training. There are just
too many questions that require more information to be answered.

Nope, get to hang out at home for the first time in a number of years.

Just can't get away from this place.

Explode your parcels, start a new drawing, cut and paste the exploded objects into it, and re-create the parcels from these objects.

2006 is terrible with parcels: they are not stable enough to last through the life of the job, I found they always fall over somewhere along the line.. Upgrade to 2007 SP3.
