PROFILE VIEW HORIZONTAL GRID LINES

Im having an issue where the horizontal grid lines in my profile are projecting out past my last specified station (see attached) My profile begins at sta: 1+00 and ends at 1+12. My user specified station range is sta: 0+80 to 1+30. I didn't have this issue in release 11 (im currently using release 12) with this profile view style and i did hundreds of profiles with this very same style.

I thought we were supposed to be fixing bugs with new releases, not creating new ones.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

It appears your computer is somewhat lacking.

I don't see how that helps me with my problem.

Are you saying my computer is the problem and not the program?

Quite frankly, no.  However, if you want questions answered somewhat timely, give all the facts.  The only fact given is it is Relese 12, the real Release 12 was DOS only.  One only has to fill out the "My Settings" one time (See above Right) with quality information for others to gauge the problem.  Notice the info below my name.

Done.

Now, are there any suggestions related to my issue?

OK, have you done a repair of your installation, it appears something may be amiss in your installation.  You are not showing a Service Pack which is real important in your version.

UPDATE:

Service Pack 2 has just been posted.  It includes Service Pack 1, so here is a good start, I would think.

Thanks Bill

Have not run a repair of the system but did install the service pack. They must have just barely posted it because it wasnt there before lunch.

Unfortunately, the service pack did not fix the problem. Hopefully there is a less troublesome solution to the problem than running a repair.

Thanks again for your help.

Jason, can you post your drawing? Might help to see if the same thing occurs on another machine.

I was having this same issue.  Now it appears as if the profile grid lines are folding back on themselves.  I do have all the updates installed.  The first update seem to fix the grid lines extending beyond my profile view...sort of.  Now it's like the grid lines were just "swept under the rug"...Smiley Surprised

I'll provide a drawing file if the image isn't clear enough.

Thanks in advance,

I don't think this has anything to do with installs or corruption. I had this same issue and a simple tweek in the profile view style solved it for me. So, select your profile view -> right click -> edit profile view style -> pick the Grid tab -> and set your grid padding (left & right) to be zero as shown in the attachment. Hope this helps.

I wish it was that simple, Nelson.  My Grid Padding is at 0.  I rarely pad my grids anyway.  Thanks for the reply though.

Ah ha...but Nelson, you got me thinking.  My Axis Offsets, left and right, were set to .5.  When I changed them to 0 it appears to have fixed the issue.  Big grin...Smiley LOL

Well, I'm glad you got it sorted and here I thought I really hit the nail on the head.

Like I mentioned I had this same issue a while back (we even use the dot line type for minor grids!) but couldn't remember my exact steps for a resolution. So this morning I had C3D2011 open so I performed the steps as I suggested above (changed the grid padding) and it replicated your issue. After you said it didn't work, I tried it again in C3D2012 and nothing happened. Ha!

I'm stumped...Smiley Frustrated...in using someone elses template in C3D2011 with both the grid padding and axis offsets set to "1", I'm unable to replicate the issue.  I can't even replicate it in 2012 now.
