Re: PNEZD file import issue.

Ok. I see what is going on here.

I know this probably isn't the exact solution you are looking for, but try opening the point file itself in Excel (or an open source spreadsheet program, like OpenOffice) and save it as a .csv

You might have to do some cleanup, but try that, and then import that .csv as a PNEZD (comma delimited).

This is how it should look:

I notice you have filtering on. I don't know if that's blocking the PNEZD format. Try turning it off.

I'm not sure yet. I've tried turning on filtering while importing a TXT file and it doesn't filter out PNEZD (comma delimited). It's possible that the files are missing of the path is set wrong on the OPs computer. We'll have to wait for a reply.

That looks like it. Do the points come into the drawing OK?

Try renaming the .txt to .csv

If that doesn't work, open it in text pad do a find and replace of ",<null>," to be just ",".

PNEZD should recognize .txt. You could change the default extension for PNEZD to .txt. That is what mine is.

Ok, we are getting somewhere here. I turned the filtering off. I replaced the <null> for "0". Imported my points but the descriptions are not coming in. (I tried the .cvs part but I normally just grab the point file, not really export them when it comes from the field).

Thanks again!

You could just create a copy of the PNEZD(comma delimited) point file format and edit it so the elevation column is unused.
