Optional (Custom) Pipe Parameters

All of my custom optional pipe parameters display "undefined" in the parts list.

If I try to edit them to a string or value it will not save, reverts back to "undefined"

Any ideas on how to rectify this?

As far as I know, you cannot enter random strings to custom properties.

They need to be defined in the part, or in the AeccSharedPropertyLists.xml

Well,

I created them in 2010 and they worked fine unitl 2015.

The AeccSharedPropertyLists.xml file is for "lists", hence the name..

Went in and looked at this and you can just type in whatever you want in there. Yikes!

We have never used it that way, never had the need for user input, always made a list of standards.

The AeccParamCfg.xml file may be the issue.

<AeccDfParameter name="DEG" desc="Degree" context="Degree" index="0" datatype="String" usage="String_General" managelist="False" unit="" visible="True" internal="True"/>

That is the property I gave it a go on and it worked. other than that I might not be much help.

Bill,
These are used for a pipe table that we generate from the pipe network.
Most of these are inputted with a number.
i.e. Structure Backfill

Are you using 2015?

Just got this back from Autodesk:

Dear Chris,

Thank you for choosing Autodesk Support. My name is Jason and I will be assisting you with your case. I have reviewed your .XML file and have been able to recreate this issue. When editing a pipe and setting the properties for these custom parameters, they do not hold in Civil 3D 2015. They do however hold in Civil 3D 2014 and prior versions.

As this seems to be a defect, what I will do is log this issue with our development team. I will start to create a defect case now, however I will follow up with an email prior to me escalating this to development. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Best regards,

Jason Ferrelli
