Opening file

When I open a drawing, the dialogue box does not appear.
I get a line saying "enter name of drawing to open"

How can I get the dialogue box to appear to select file location? Thanks in advance

Is there a variable to turn the Auto Crash after two hours work off?

Set AECCINCREASEPRODUCTION to 0.

Yeah, there's that and also I found that
AECCDRIVEUSERCRAZY was set to 1, should that be 0 or -1?

Um, that one's a system variable; users can't change that. On the first release of a version it gets set to 4 and decreases with each successive service pack.

You'll notice on the Trial Version that it's set to 0. I've heard the theory espoused that AD staff change change it remotely on the full version. Not filling out CER's properly or loading them with bile may result in AECCDRIVEUSERCRAZY being set to 13. But that only rumour, and who believes them? ;o)

Yes, can't traust them. This is the same company that calls a beta version a release... This setting of variables remotely is a scary thought, but would explain a lot...

Nice chatting; and Merry Christmas. I've set the AECCONHOLIDAYS variable to 16, that's how many day's leave I have now. When it reaches zero I will retart Civil3D and see what happens..

It's a part of the button that resides next to my "open" button on the
toolbar - it not only sets the variable in the current drawing, but it
makes a post to this DG that tells people that I did it 😉
