Offset Assembly Link to MArked Point Issue

How come a link to mark point doesnt work if I assign an alignment to an offset assembly?

If I do not assign an alignment for the offset assembly the link to mark point works

Can you tell me about the alignment stationing for the offset alignment? Is it vastly different from the baseline stationing?

As I replied on my other post.  The issue is my offset alignment not being parallel to the main alignment.
