No ActiveSync on Windows 7?

Trying out the demo version of Civil 3D 2014 on my new computer with Windows 7 Pro. I can't figure out how to transfer files from my Recon (Survey Pro) to my Windows 7 computer. MicroSoft says ActiveSync can only go on XP. I don't have BlueTooth or Internet on my Recon, so how can I get these two kids to talk?

What you need is WINDOWS MOBILE.  Google it, free from Microsoft.

Bill,

I went to the download site. Microsoft says Windows Mobile can only be used with Vista. It would sure be nice if Trimble Link could be upgraded to include USB transfers. Right now it looks like either XP Mode or keep my old XP computer and thumb-drive the points and LandXML files. Jeez! I thought computers were supposed to make things easier. 🙂

Bill,

Microsoft says it doesn't support Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows 7, but I tried it anyway. It works great! Thank you!

So you get a green check box!

Thanks Dave

I remember reading that as well, but it is almost too easy to use.
