Ok , so I have a number a questions ... been trying to figure this out for 2 hours now and I thought I should just ask.

How can I create a subasambley

AND hot to add a Pave 3 opption or another subbase depth.

One more question , can you combine 2 asambleys into one corridor ?

You can create a subassembly using the Subassembly Composer software.  Depending on which version of Civil3d you have it may be already installed or you might have to get it from the Subsription download site.

If your corridor has more than one region then you can apply different assemblies to each one.

Are you being cryptic, or am I just slow today?

You should be able to set any depth to 0 and the layer won't draw. I tried a few of the Lane subassemblies in 2014.

Now that I have heard it from the source I will not fear doing that.

My civil3d is kind of like my guitar playing: I can make them both work pretty well but to the trained eye they may not look so pretty Smiley Very Happy

I have been approximating zero for some time now as well. 🙂

This makes sense it should operate and behave like this.

However, are you checking the programming code also? What does "layer" mean here?

I would like to be sure that no Links or Shape remnants are being created for double counting areas in QTO, Rendering, etc..

No your not alone. There were issues with some of the subs in earlier releases.

Hi Peter

here is a sample of why I use 0.00001

This is not true Peter. See message from support below.

I am being challenged by support to take this to development as a defect.

We need you to have development thoroughly go through all of the subassemblies to check for this functionality. We rarely have all the offered Material layers in our road structural design at once. For example, maybe we just have a Pave1 and Pave2 layer and Base layer. No Subbase, Pave3, etc.

We need to have confidence that these layers are NOT CREATED for quantification in QTO and Volume Reports. Also for Hatching,  Rendering, etc.

The subassemblies do not display coorectly in Section view. The unwanted Material layers are created.
