Model terrain and breaklines

Do you always need to draw breaklines around the points to model a terrain? I've tryed just associating a boundary and it doesn't terrain the model.

No, but you do need to make a point group and add that group to the surface before it will do much. -- James Wedding, P.E. Technology Manager & Associate Jones & Boyd, Inc. Dallas, TX XP/2 on P4-3.4/1G LDT2005SP1 & C3D2005SP1

There are basically three types of breaklines: 1) polylines - specifically, 3D polylines 2) 3D lines - TINs are a good example 3) proximity polylines - 2D polylines but there must be points (from the point database) in proximity to the vertices of the selected polyline included as part of the surface definition. Does anybody have a clue what distance constitutes proximity?
