Missing icons on Multiline Text Ribbon

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the ribbon and have a problem. In C3d when i double click on mtext and the ribbon comes up all my icons don't show...I attached a jpg to show you. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lynn

The Ribbon in 2009 was not a 'ready for prime time' tool, which is one
reason why it was not enabled in the shipping workspaces. To get the old
MText toolbar back, close the ribbon. Now when you want to edit the text you
will get the familiar Mtext editing toolbar.

This has been corrected in later versions.

Do a right click in the text editing area and go to editor settings and select the options you want.

Thanks Jeff,

Yes, I actually use the old Mtext editor myself, but some of my other users want to start using the ribbon and I am just trying to figure out why this is happening. Do you know where to find it in the cui? maybe I can look there for a clue to the problem.

As far as I know, this was just an unfinished item. I never tried to
extensively use the Ribbon until 2010 so never looked into trying to fix
that, sorry. If you do find a solution, be sure to post back because I do
know a few others have asked the same thing.

Good Luck!

In a more thorough search, I found this:

which may help.

This may be my last post from a newsreader....if so, see you all on the
other side, maybe.

Lynn, I found this in the Update 3 readme:

After you apply this update, you may experience the following ribbon
customization-related problems:
An Incorrect or Missing Ribbon Tab
Known Issue: When you display a ribbon tab from a partial or Enterprise CUI
file, on the ribbon, the ribbon tab displays incorrectly or is missing.
Workaround: To correctly display a ribbon tab, recreate the workspace used
to display the ribbon tab from scratch. Do not duplicate or attempt to
update the workspace. Once you create a new workspace, set the workspace
current. The ribbon tab should display correctly.

So I built a new Menu, using the Acad.cui as a template. Then unloaded all
menus, loaded the new menu, then loaded the acad & civil cui's as partial
menus. I created a new workspace in that new menu. Then added the toolbars &
menus from the Civil.cui and the Ribbon tabs from the Acad.cui. Everything
now looks and works correctly (it appears after 5 minutes of testing).

Hope you see this before the groups go down for updating this afternoon.

Jeff

Wow, Thanks Jeff!

One question....when you wrote "So I built a new Menu"...did you mean you built a new workspace?

I built a new menu, then a new workspace within that menu. I used the
Transfer tab and saved a new, clean, CUI file. It was this new, blank, menu
that I added the Acad & Civil cui's to as partial menus.
