Missing Templates (2007)

Just getting started with C3D. While reading the "CAD Manager's Guide" (autodesk white paper) I noticed some of the templates shown are not on my machine. These four are missing;

_Autodesk Civil 3D Imperial By Layer.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D Imperial By Style.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D Metric By Layer.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D Metric By Layer.dwt

Are these optional during the install ? Where can I find them ?

TIA

Those are OLD templates (2006) that shouldn't be used and aren't shipped.
Use the new ones instead.

Seems I only have 6 templates (C3D) to choose from, Is this it ?

_Autodesk Civil 3D (Imperial) NCS Base.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D (Imperial) NCS Classic.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D (Imperial) NCS Extended.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D (Metric) NCS Base.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D (Metric) NCS Classic.dwt
_Autodesk Civil 3D (Metric) NCS Extended.dwt

Are all of these "ByStyle" or "ByLayer" ? The white paper seems to put a lot of emphasis on developing styles with flexibility in mind.

Also, are there any templates available for use with STB's vs CTB's ?

Those are the babies. None of them are STB based. They are all BYLAYER.
This is by far the best way to go especially if you plan to use XREF's.
