I have a new computer (windows 7) with autocad civil 3d land desktop companion 2009. Autocad is loaded. However, I can't launch it to borrow a license from the network server. I am a remote user and when I try and select the license file it won't install and get a meesage that a valid license can not be found. However, office users have been able to use this file. I have tried loggin in as administrator, disabling my firewall and anti virus to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
If you have license troubles, you'd better listen to your Autodesk dealer, without looking for solutions in a public forum, sir...
When I strat the app remotely or on the network and it can't find a license a dialog appears. The dialog gives me the choice of locating the license file or the server. Try the server option and in the next dialog box type the server name in. THis is how we do it with our license file. Careful after typing in the server name. If you hit the return button to advance the dialogs you will be canceling the command. After typing in the name use mouse clicks to advance the dialogs.
The remote PC and user will also need windows network permissions to connect remotely to the network and license server.
