Label 3D Polyline without creating surface

Hello,

I have some contour data in a file in the form of 3D LWPOLYLINEs. I want to lable the contour 3D LWPOLYLINEs.
Is there any way to label 3D LWPOLYLINEs without creating surface in civil 3D 2011?
It can be done using a LISP but I want to know if there is any tool in civil 3D to this task.

Create a line label style based on the Start Z. That will do it.

DO you have a 3D poly or a LW poly? These are different beasts.

Entities are LWPOLYLINEs at a elevation.
