LOFT Bug: Loft inserts additional vertices

I have found a strange bug using the LOFT command in AutoCAD Civil 3d.

When I loft the shape AutoCAD Civil 3d will create a solid with 3 out of the four corners drawn correctly. The forth corner appears to have additional vertices inserted which is not correct.

Checking the objects there are no additional vertices drawing which would create this behaviour and whether or not the shape is closed or open makes no difference

The corners should be 0.4m by 0.4m. Drawing half the shape with a know good corner exhibits the same error. The only workaround I have at present is to draw a quater of the shape and to use mirror and union to show the solid correctly
