LDD to Civil 3D

I am new to Civil 3D and LDDT is old Habit

I am looking for any documentation to help my transition from LDDT to Civil 3D, more specific I am looking for step by step guide to help with these 2 areas:

1 bring existing LDDT setting into Civil 3D (i.e. Description Key Manager items, Layers used in alignment-profile and so on).

2 how do i start a project from scratch (i.e. importing of points and so on).

it is very confusion to use the help guide with Civil 3D. To many places to go, can get lost on where you have been, where you are going and so on.

please ease the pain and make the transition easier for all users.

I agree, even the tutorials were that way, so I took the first Essentials
class on C3D offered by my dealer. It was far from perfect, but certainly
helped put things in perspective. You might call your dealer about the
class. I want to retake it because being first in line made me the class
beta tester!

This is from our Civil 3D KnowledgeBase about importing settings from LDT

This is covered in the online tutorials (different from online help).
There's also a Getting Started Guide, which may be a quicker read.

The link that you provided was helpful but it did not apply. I do not have LDDT 2006 loaded on my system. I am using LDDT 2005 with the with the Civil and Survey add-ons.

The second item, have not done tutorials. Have gone through the Getting Started Document, but everything is already in there. You are just playing with the compiled data. i want something that will help get the data into a project so I can get it all compiled for use.

The "Project" concept is only available with C3D 2006......
