Join 2 Figures

Can 2 figures that are sitting adjacent to one another be joined into 1 figure?

What kind of figures? Images, xrefs, lines, blocks?

Hi,

At the moment the simplest way is to edit the fieldbook file and re-import
it.

Another way to do it in 2008 is to add insert both figures into the drawing,
explode them, join them, and add the new polyline to the figure database (as
a new figure). Not perfect, but it may be faster than editing the field
book.

FYI, most of the Figure Line Editing Tool bar will work on survey figures
(be sure to update the survey database after the edits.)

Cool thanks Peter. But tell me, what is this "Figure Line Editing" toolbar? Did you mean feature line?

What if you miss a cross-section of a road and go back to pick it up at a later time? You cannot edit the fieldbook because all of the points are in order, so you can't squeeze in a new number, and there is no way to merge 2 figures of the same name.

You would insert your new cross-section, grip edit your survey figure to
insert a PVI and snap to the new point. Right-Mouse Click and update
survey data from drawing to write the edited figure back to the survey
database.
