Is learning QTO a waste of time?

QTO Experts,

 

I have never used the QTO manager. Until now i have never needed this functionality. I have seen many complaints and conformations that there are issues with QTO. Should I take the time to learn QTO and what things should should i not use it for.

It's handy for quantifying items like signs and plants or for quantifying 2d linear features and areas. It does not correctly quantify the areas of 3d features.

Yes, I would recommend it. It's easy to learn.

 

It has powerful capabilities not limited to simply counting Items.

 

You can compute Volumes and Tonnages directly with QTO... (if your subassembly has a constant depth parameter, I have recently asked for Corridor Shapes to have Pay Item functionality also which would mitigate the constant depth requirement) 

 

 

Compute Pipe Network Item quantities.

 

You have seen the list of current defects for QTO however...
