I was hoping to get some ideas on interveiw tips and questions I should ask. thanks.
Are you the interviewer or the one being interviewed?
The things I usually ask:
What software is to be used?
What hardware is to be used?
Where is my desk?
Where is the coffee maker?
Where is the restroom?
Thanks for your reply, I'll be getting interviewing by a company and would like to get some ideas of some questions that I should consider asking as a designer. Thanks for your time. Maybe this could serve as a reference or recourse for other also.
A few questions I would be asking...
Would I be expected to work outside as well as inside?
What part would I be expected to do in a project? (some companies consider a designer to be able to take a project start to finish with the engineer doing the final check, others expect a "designer" to do mark-ups only)
What type of projects are they involved with?
How many are usually involved in each project?
What is their quality control process?
How many project managers do they have?
Would I be working primarily for one project manager or all?
Be completely honest about your abilities. Let them know your goals and how long you expect it to reach those goals. I have seen too many people overstate what they can do and end up loosing their job because of it. If they had been honest, they still would have been hired but at a lower pay rate. At the higher rate and lack of abilities they ended up costing too much.
