do you have an example of what a multicolored polyline is? would the polyline look like a rainbow was being draped over it? it seems to me once a polyline is created it can be broken at points where you want to change from one color to the next.

AFAIK that's not possible. If you set WHIPARC to 1. All of the arcs will plot the layer color and the lines will take the color from the plot style. But that effects every single polyline and isn't what you're looking for. It looks like (to me) that you'll have to stick with your workaround.

There may be something that could be done with a non-lightweight polyline with some programming. But that's way past me.

Well, I belong to the "old school", sorry.

I mean that in this current life I'm (still) hetero, Johnny.

In the next one, who knows..?

All right, JM, I was joking...

Now check this out (I used my national flag's colours) closer to the OP request:

I attached the .DWG file, now you can guess how I did it: have fun !

190 something objects. I thought you had something real geeky up your sleeve. 😉

Here is a 3 object version that is still not what the OP needs but the inner geek is getting out. 🙂

Your continuous rail on background is a winning idea, Joe.

Get an advice: before you share a DWG with others, please purge it, because of the bunch of unused SHX files.

Maybe not with a polyline but two alignment styles and a zero offset alignment can accomplish this Smiley Wink
