How to handle editing corridor surfaces.

Based on previous posts I am aware that some of you use 3d polys & feature
lines to touch up and even revise surfaces created from corridor models. I
was hoping for a little input, some of the in & outs of the procedures used.

Do you use Snapshots, do you make a copy the corridor surface to edit, how
is it working Feature Lines to really fine tune the grading? What advantages
do Feature lines provide over 3d polys besides a tabular elevation editor? I
ask the last question because it seems most of the Feature line edit
commands work on 3d polys.

I don't seem to be having a great deal of luck with feature lines created
from complex 2d plines (when two arcs in a pline a filleted) and I am also
seeing that the corridor surface is not fully recognizing the breaklines.
See attached. The magenta 3d poly line was added to the surface as a
breakline to transition the typical 2% grade behind a curb. Note that some
of the triangles are doing the Limbo under the breakline. I get the same
results with a Feature Line.

Any and all input is always appreciated,

Here is another example of the surface breaklines not quite doing what I
expect. I have a cul-de-sac that I need to warp to drain along some not so
typical horizontal geometry. In new2.png the magenta 3d polys form a curb to
fill in a blank portion of the cul-de-sac bulb (no lane subassembly to
prevent the corridor from crossing itself, see new3.png). The 3d
plines/breaklines do not overlap in a horizontal plane nor do they form a
vertical plane but the surface triangles rise from BC to TC in new2.png.
