How to Create a custom grading criteria set?

Hello All,

I am currently working on a mass grading project that requires complicated cut 7 fill slopes. The parcel to be mass graded sits on a hill so there will be large fill and cut slopes. The slopes are in excess of 40 feet in some areas. I will be using 1.5 to 1 slopes for the daylight slopes. Since the slopes are so steep I will have to add "benches" between slopes and that is where my problem lies. Since the existing surface I am trying to dayight to is not even how do I create a grading file that has a 5' wide bench then 1.5:1 slope for 15' (10' high), and repeats until it daylights to existing surface? Is there anyway to set up a grading criteria set that uses the surface target but only goes a certain distance? I have included a sketch to visually show what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do the slope grading with the corridor design. There are daylight subassemblies specifically for benching.

Thank you very much, now I am on the right path. I found the bench subassembly but now I have another question now. I have noticed that my cut bench will slope in the opposite direction of the fill bench slope since it will slope into the cut (-% with increasing offset) where the fill bench will slope into the fill (+% with increasing offset). How do I show this with this particular subassembly since the input for the subassembly only allows one bench slope %? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. That subassembly is not going to allow you to do the design the way you want, and, as far as I know, none of the other stock subassemblies allows benching.

You might consider posting to the Civil 3D customization group and asking if anyone has modified that subassembly to allow cut bench slope and fill bench slope, or you might be able to contract someone from there to write it for you.
