How do I make the work plane wider/longer?

I'm using partbuilder to create custom pipes, and I was trying to resize the work plane, but wasn't able to.

Is it possible to do resize these work planes? and if so, how do I do it?

You do not need to resize the work plane. Once you design the part and it's larger I believe the workplanes resize themselves. If memory serves anyways ...
