High Low Point of a VC

How do I just inquire on the high and low point of a verticle curve?

You have to add a label, there aren't any tools to simply inquire at
this time.

How can I designer work without this kind of tools???

Joao,


Too many ways to skin this cat! One another way is to right click on the
profile to select "edit profile..." and then click "Profile Layout
Parameters" button (4th from the end). Select any PVI to get all nuts and
bolts of this curve along with high/low point data. Advantages of this
method is (a) you will be able to see all other parameters such as sight
distances curve min radius etc... (b) you can not only see the data, but can
edit most of it too.


In principle all geometrical parameters of the design (be it alignment,
profiles, corridors, grading foot prints and mostly parcels) elements are
provided through geometry editor tools such as "grid editors" and entity
editors. I know that this is not same as in LDT - but looked at it as a
design PLUS inquiry tool of the geometry.


We understand that general inquiry commands about station/offset/elevation
values and list slope/depth commands etc... are missing, as they are in LDT,
but current procedure (as of R2006) is to use tooltips - and in some cases
labels.

Hey Chakri;


The treaded tooltips are my biggest beef with C3D. When next I get to use it
that's the first thing I'll turn off, to save on precious screen display
area. Maybe after I acquire a second display monitor I'll think about
turning them on again.


Maybe is there were a way to control the radius of the objects found near
the cursor to display for the tooltip...

My concerns is about the general inquiry commands about station/offset and in a profile view a list elevation.

My work with Tooltips is bad because isn't precise (depend of position of cursor).

For a designer general inquiry commands this is a tool that we use all the time !! For example how can I know the profile elevation of an alignement at Km 0+541,563 (specific location) ???? I dont know how to get it?? With label is possible??

I thinks that using method label to inquiry is bad.

Is posssible to use tooltips with osnap to use do inquiry intersection of 2 alignments??

Is possible to control tooltips because when I have a lot of alignments the monitor area is insufficient to see all Station/Offset in tooltips. Is possible to tooltips showing only the 2 last aligment that i am working??

About general inquiry commands- current procedures and workarounds (such as
using civil 3D transparent commands, and labels) are not the right
solutions. That request is loud and clear and are certainly being
considered.
