Help with DTM Surfaces

Please could help me with a few things.

I'm a Civil Engineer and need help with design software. Up until now I have
been using al sorts of software for all my design. (Civil Design (has
nothing to do with Autocad) - from Knowledge Base for Roads - Land
Development to generate DTM surfaces and then PipeMate from TechnoCAD (works
inside of Land Development) for the Sewer and Storm Water Design, Water
design I have been using a spread sheet.)

My problem is what do I do? I hear that Land Development is on its way out
and I have not been able to get an evaluation copy of Civil 3D as there is
no support in South Africa. I would like to do every thing in the Autocad
environment.

Does Civil 3D create DTM surface the same way as in Land Development or as
they do in Map 3D? I have tried to create a DTM surface in Map 3D but for
the life of me can not.

Your help is much appreciated

Yes, the DTM process in C3D is very similar to LDT. And it has very strong
road and pipe modeling capabilities. For design, you'd still use a
spreadsheet, but the modeling and drafting would be more automated.

If you'd like, contact me off-line, I'd be happy to answer any questions. EE
offers consulting worldwide.
