In trying to help another user with this same error (user is on 2010), I'm using 2011.
We both get the same error(s) as shown. So the question is what is the problem exactly with the 'data set' or is it really a problem with the routine? However we can edit out the header portions of the file and get at least the
PROFILE LIMITS:
PROFILE ID:PF 1
POLYGON
to import with some success.
Possibly a little of both. The data set not conforming to any of the data sets that were used to test the routine and the routine not being able to get over not finding something it was expecting. Error catching by the programmer would have been useful instead of letting VBA handle it. Maybe a message with the line number it was having problems with.

Can you post your HEC-RAS files and the SDF and we can take a look?
I have the SDF file, I'll have the other party get the HEC_RAS file.
NOTE: becaue the silly forum software doesn't ALLOW or RECOGNIZE SDF file extention, please take a moment to rename the file after download is complete.
There are a few items that appear missing in the SDF file.
Is the comment left intentionally vague?
Care to elaborate on, and or give an examples of "some things missing from the file"?
Or perhaps even post a similar yet complete file such that a real comparisson can be made.
No, not vague. Just an observation at the time.
If HEC-RAS can not import the project into a new HEC-RAS project - Civil 3d will not be able to either.
The file you posted contains, the HEADER, CROSSSECTIONS, and BOUNDS.
It does not contain the REACH and STREAMNETWORK information. Without that data, the reach alignment and profile data can not be imported.
Thanks for the information that can forward the investigation into a solution! We will see where that takes us and post results back here.
