Graphics driver issue

I have has this happen a few times now. Wondering if anyone has any insight.

I'm running an FX580 graphics card, Win7x64, using C3D 2011.

In the CONFIG3D dialog, I can enabled hardware acceleration using one of two choices, see below

The nvgl10.hdi seems to work OK, but it seems to be jumpy during pans, not real smooth.

The Autodesk one seems to behave much better, but almost without fail after setting this one current, I end up getting the message below at some point in the future (it may be 10 min, or the next day). Today it occurred while I was at lunch, I get back and this message is waiting...

..and then when I click OK, hardware acceleration is DISabled.

Any thoughts?

I'm wondering if the heidi file is found. If so maybe user privledges are preventing the drv settings from saving.

What happens if you run the app as admin and then enter 3dconfig, make & save changes, exit and return as normal user.

I already have local and domain admin rights - so permissions shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks.
