General Label - cannot rotate!

Hi all,

I made a general text style for Road Names. On the properties I have the
following properties set:

Orientation Reference: Object
Forced Insertion: None
Plan Readable: false

So why can't I rotate the text? I want it to be parallel to the street and
not auto-rotate to plan readable. I could just use dumb text but then the
auto-scale feature won't work.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't think rotating general notes is doable at this time. However, you can create a line label style that mimics your road name text. Then label non-plot lines at the angle you choose.

Thanks Andy,

I did just that. Then r/c edit text is how I change the the general name to
the one I want. It is even nice for labeling road names that occur on a
curve. I made a curve style that uses this and curves the text. Thanks for
the idea.

Now I'm trying to come up with some style that mimics an Iron Pin symbol
with editable text like the general styles that I can move around. hmmmmm
