FtMcNair7pts2depths4cornersBoundary-C3D:Cannot save DWG. Why?

Hi all,

I have the following FtMcNair7pts2depths4corners-C3D-boundaryrevised.txt file:

1,438246.753,1312422.091,10.1001,FdIP
2,438609.870,1308129.262,11.2002,SamplePt
3,438609.868,1308129.260,50.2002,SamplePt
4,438550.143,1308130.676,12.3003,SamplePt
5,438550.141,1308130.674,60.3003,SamplePt
6,438502.798,1308128.391,13.4004,SamplePt
7,438594.944,1308097.086,14.5005,SamplePt
8,438502.447,1308050.948,15.6006,SamplePt
9,438502.445,1308050.946,75.6006,SamplePt
10,438549.784,1308097.364,16.7007,SamplePt
11,438508.630,1308096.788,17.8008,SamplePt
12,438641.585,1307945.910,10.1111,Boundary B
13,438678.693,1308186.785,10.2222,Boundary
14,438383.351,1308186.785,10.4444,Boundary
15,438383.351,1308080.539,10.3333,Boundary CLS

that is imported into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 program via the process of Survey Databases\Survey Data-Ft McNair\Import Events.  There are 3 locations that have 2 depths required the point resolutions during the Import Event process, but I got the DWG I need - see the attached jpg file. Note: after resolving the duplicate of the 3 sets of Points, the Point #s in the DWG are strange and not the original numbers I set in the txt file.   I tried to save this scFtMcNair7pts2depths4corners.DWG unsuccessfully twice in my c:\My Documents.  Please help kindly and tell me why I cannot save this DWG file in my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013?

Thanks,

Scott Chang

Are you saying that it added the info to the dwg file but just won't let you save it?  My first guess is that you're in a read-only file.

Hi doni49, Thanks for your response.

When I typed in the new file name of my DWG and then I tried to saved it, the new file name of my DWG changed, but it did not save in my C:\My Documents folder.  I don't know whether I am in the Read-Only mode or not!!??  How can I check it out? How can I change the Read-Only mode to the regular mode for saving this DWG?  Please kindly help and respond again.

Thanks again,

Scott Chang

P. S. The problem of "strange Point #s" that have new Names (1.2, 2.2, 3.2, 4.2,......,11.1, 12.1, 13.1, 14.1) in the new output file.  How can I edit the Point #s to the new Names?  Any suggestions on this matter?

Hi doni49,

Please see the new jpg file that shows the new Names as I mentioned in the last thread of my post.

Thanks again,

If the name of the file did change, then this file is not read-only.  And if it just didn't put it in the folder you expect it to be in, then you had a different folder active when you saved it.

Type in DWGPREFIX at the command line.  That'll tell you the folder in which the current file is located.

When you saved it, was there a dialog box?
