Flood Plain Analysis

Good day .

I am trying to design a flood plain by autocad civil 3D and Hecras . The water surface which I have inport from Hecras into civil 3D is under my ground level in somewhere. Here is a attached photo of the profile .

I will really appreciate if anyone could give me advise on it.

Regards

Iman

If it is there, under what is showing, go to the Profile View Properties, on the Elevations tab, change to User Specified, and set the elevation to a lower number.

Hi Todd

First of all , i want to thanks for your answer.

Isn`t there anything wrong ? I mean in my modeling.

Does it usually happen with water surface?

Regards

Iman

If it is an import, then more than likely it will not automatically adjust the profile view height.

I don't think the WS is modeled correctly.

Any chance you can post just the data you built the WS from? Water surface on each section with elevation.

Are you sure that the reach centerline you have in RAS is the same as the alignment for which you have the EG profile cut in Civil 3D?

This usually does not happen since HEC-RAS does not calculate a -ve water depth.
