Civil3D 2008 SP2
Another possibly dumb question.
I have a driveway that I have modeled with a corridor but now I would like
to go back and add a center island. Using the Webcasts as a guide, I
thought I would make the island a feature line at the surface of the
corridor, and then make an alignment from that. I could then target the
island alignment in the corridor a work magic like the WebCast. All is well
except that I see no obvious way to make an alignment from my feature line.
Wouldn't the process I have listed below be the easiest way to get to what I
want?
1. Design Intersection Corridor.
2. Find optimum placement of center island.
3. Draw center island with 2d polys.
4. convert polys to feature lines at the corridor surface elevation.
5. Create Alignment from Feature lines. (Actually 1 alignment for each side
of the island)
6. Create profile from feature line and alignment.
7. Target island profile and alignment in the driveway corridor, using the
island subassembly I have created, and viola!
The only problem with Viola!, is that I can't seem to find a way to create
an alignment from a feature line?
Thanks, Tim
