I'm working in Civil 3D 2013 and am attempting to bring in notes and blocks from a .dwt, using DesignCenter. As soon as I drag a block into my current drawing I receive a fatal error message and Civil 3D closes. I do get the option to save a recover file.
Has anyone else had this issue come up yet and if so, how are you getting around it?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Bill,
Computer specs;
Intel Core Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz
Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
8GB
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series 2GB
DesignCenter works perfectly in 2012 (still installed)
Something else I've noticed is background mask on labels appears fine in modelspace, but is a black rectangle in paperspace. Plots fine, so not a major issue.
Hi Jeff,
I also could not find any trouble. Can you try right-cliking on your block in Design Center and choose Insert Block? Will that crash. Other blocks are doing the same?
Almas,
I've tried the right-click option as well as just dragging the block and it still crashes. I've tried different blocks, text styles, layers, multi-leader styes....same result. I've attached the error message I get. The exception at value changes from event to event.
Civil 3D crashes when I try to use the block editor as well.
Someone has suggested a re-install, but ALL three of our CAD stations have the same issue and two are fresh installs.
Someone else has identified a possible conflict with our version of MS Office, being a 32-bit version while our OS and Civil 3D are 64-bit. I've passed this information on to our IT group.
Could it be a possible conflict running Civil 3D 2012 and 2013 on the same station?
Any additional suggestions are appreciated.
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
I don't believe it's the conflict between 2012 and 2013. I have both programs on the same machine and have no issues, Besides that, each program has it's own install directory and there is very little they share. I would concentrate in one of these 3 areas: drawing corruption, user profile or install issue.
Bill,
Meritech Tools is just a ribbon, containing specific task-based functions. These include insertion of our own custom blocks and running customized AutoLisp routines. These used to be in a series of toolbars, but were converted to Ribbon panels in 2011. They still work fine and played well with C3D 2012.
Thanks to all who responded.
Turns out the issue is known and caused by core AutoCAD. We typically have the command line closed (for more screen space) and have the text screen expanded on our second monitors. Toggling off the command line in the graphics screen seems to cause the crashing. Toggling it back on everything works as exected.
