Extending/trimming Mass Elements to Surface

Hello!
I would like to extend/trim my concrete pillars (cylinder mass elements) to my rock surface. They have the correct theoretical elevation at the top, but I would like to extend or trim the bottom end to the surface...
Do anyone have any suggestions for doing so?

Create a feature line and sample from surface. Offset the feature line a small amount, maybe 0.01, to the inside of the feature line and down the amount you need. Add the feature line to the rock surface. You know should have a cyndrical structure in your surface. You may need to adjust any data that is within the concrete pillars to get it to show up properly.
