Error importing PTX point cloud file to C3D 2011

I am exporting point clouds from Cyclone in PTX format and importing in to Civil 3D 2011.  After a few minutes, I get "THE FOLLOWING ERROR OCCURRED PROCESSING THE POINT CLOUD DATA: AN ERROR OCCURRED IN DATA PROCESSING."  My new point cloud database and drawing are both set to the same state plane projection.  When I try to import the PTX in to a drawing with no projection and set the new point cloud database to no projection, it works, but obviously lands in the wrong place.  I've tried with PTS files too and get the same results.  Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue.  Did you ever resolve?

I also experienced this problem in C3D 2011.  It did appear to be related to co-ordinate system settings.  I found the only way to resolve it was to use one of the original NCS templates.

Good luck!
