ENTER NAME OF DRAWING TO OPEN <.>

HELLO;

My program crashed and when I try to load my drawing file, I get this comment.  I then type in FILEDIA and AutoCad responds with: CANNOT FIND THE SPECIFIED DRAWING FILE. PLEASE VERIFY THAT THE FILE EXISTS.

Can someone help me with this next step?

Thank you

Milena

Make sure you press esc key a few times to cancel out of the OPEN command, then type in FILEDIA and set it to 1.

A little trick is that if you get the message "Enter name of drawing to open" on the command line. Enter a tilde (~) and you'll get the file open dialog box. After opening your drawing you can set Filedia to 1.

The FILEDIA question is probably the most-common support call we take, but using the tilde...that's a new one for me.

Thanks @AllenJessup !

Would (command filedia 1) be effective or a distraction in the acaddoc.lsp file?

Joe,

I have it in my acaddoc.lsp and as a monitored system variable.

@tcorey , You're Welcome.

That's one from the depths of time. Probably around R12 (not 2012).
