Duplicate Figure Lines

Hello,

I am a surveyor / field designer in a municipal environment.

I was wondering why, when I bring in a FBK, C3D produces duplicate figure lines?

What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something?

I am a newbie from LDD and have to learn this by osmosis as the Tutorials and docs are a little light in the survey area.

I guess they think that surveyors are smart enough to figure this stuff out.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

D Dell

Attach the FBK and we can have a look.

It shouldn't unless the coding in the FBK tells it too or you forgot to
erase the prior imports figures..

I thought it shouldn’t duplicate them.

I’ve started a New Survey Database and imported control through a Pts txt file.

Brought in my fieldbooks and produced duplicate figues.

I’ve done this several times on different machines with the same results. (no editing, just importing)

I noticed this when I attempted to edit the figure line and found duplicate lines.

Maybe it’s a drilldown setting box checked off.

I am including pics of my Project and a fieldbook with some test figure commands.

All the fieldbooks imported react the same way.

I am using Civil 3D 2010.

I will continue spelunking the settings for a resolve.

Thanks again.

I was having the same thing happen. Somebody finally pointed me towards a checkbox on the "Import Field Book" settings box. Try un-checking the "Process linework during import" box. Worked for me.

Yep, that does it.

One of the hidden 'features' I guess.

I unchecked 'insert figure objects' setting during import and left "process linework during import" checked.

Got duplicates.

So, to the surveyors in the crowd, Do Not 'process linework' from a Fieldbook or you will have duplicate figures.

You can insert figures while you import or later...your chose with no duplicates.

I am still unclear with the differences between 'linework' and 'figures'.

Thanks Mrdavek
