Draping/overlaying Polyline onto the surface

hi, I have a dtm of the ground and would like to drape a 2d polyline onto the surface elevation (converting it into 3dpline) so when I do a 3D orbit i can see the polyline move with the surface. InCad has a nice feature called "Drape onto Surface" I was wondering if civil 3D had that feature. Hope that's clear if not I'll try to explain again.

Best Regards,
Yuri

Hi Yuri,

You can't drape a polyline onto a surface, but you can convert it to a
feature line and pick up the elevations from the surface. Go to
Grading->Create Feature Lines to convert your 2D polyline into a feature
line, then go to Grading->Edit->Elevations From Surface to pick up the
surface elevations. Make sure you include the intermediate grade breaks.
