I have a set rectangular mat, 8' wide x 12' long, that I am trying to drapre over a design surface. The surface has significant grade changes, so a 2D alignment will not suffice. Is there any way to drape this an object with set dimensions over a 3D surface?
Have you tried using a feature line? They will drape on the surface.
Feature lines will "drape" or are you referring to snapping the elevation points to the surface?
How do you drape a feature line over a surface. And will this retain the length of the feature line, meaning if you draw a 20' long feature line and drape it over a surface, it's 3D length with remain 20'?
Certainly the 3D length would change if every node is snapped to vertically match the surface. Is there a way to have a line with a fixed 3D length draped over a suface (or match surface elevations)? Essentailly, pick a starting point on the line and drape the line over the surface only until it reaches the desired 3D length.
