Dragged Labels leaders not pointing to point ctrs.

I have some points labeled with elevation only. If I drag the labels away
from the point leaders are created but the arrows do not point to the
centers of the points. I looked in the label style>dragged state>leaders but
I don't see anyway to tell the leaders where to point.

On my computer, the leaders point to the insertion point, but they do not
get very close. It was explained by Mr. Funk on an earlier post. (I.E.
several months ago.)

Oh. Yes it's weird if I drag the label all around the point the leader will
remain outside what appears to be a force field about the size of the point
symbol, in my case an X.

Has anyone come up with a solution for allowing the leader to point to the center of the marker of a point object when it is in dragged state? I am not sure that an answer was given other than referring back to Peter Funk's post -- which I can't find.

Thanks!

It appears as if the leader's attachment point is to the "extents" of the point marker. If you change your point style to a "Use Custom Marker" and pick the dot, the leader arrow will be attached to the node.

I wonder if you could use a different arrow head, like something user defined, that had it's insertion point at maybe it's mid-point, instead of the tip. That way it would project ahead of the end of the leader line.

Perhaps this has already been addressed, but here's the solution in Civil 3D 2009. In the Point Style editor, click on the Summary tab, expand the Marker heading, and change the Leader stops at marker setting to No.
Presto!

Had a collegue of mine help me figure this out... I was having the same issue.

The leader connection to the point is not set in the style. It's per point. Select a point, go to properties, Under Annotation heading, Leader Attachment Option, Select Point - instead of Marker Extents or From Marker Style.

This will force the leader to the point coordinate. To do a mass selection of points, click a point, right click, hit select similar, then change in properties as stated above.

NOTE: I believe that the Leader Attachment Option from above called From Maker Style is confusing, because points do not use a Marker Style, which is an actual style in Civil 3D. They use a point style for their 'marker', in which to add more confusion does not have any settings for leader attachment. I believe that both Leader Attachement Options (From Marker Style and Marker Extents) use the extents of the marker object to calculate the end of the leader.

Steve, you do know you responded to a 5 year old thread? Second, as the post just prior to your points out, this setting CAN be controlled in the Point Style...no need to change each point.
