Disappearing Note Label Text

I have a note label style created to label Lat & Long. When originally created the labels worked fine now, several weeks later the leaders for the labels are visible but the text has disappeared. Nothing in the layer states has changed and the setting sin the label style are all the same. Running an audit on the drawing produced no resuls. Any ideas on where the problem might be?

Is your drawing set to a specific datum, ie state plane? If not there is no LAT LONG to compute

Yes the datum is set to state plane.
