Dim Text Rotation

I have have an aligned dimension that does not rotate in a paper space print window.  Contour labels, alignment labels all rotate except for the dimension.  Obviously I am missing something, but I have tried all I know.  Thanks.

Dimensions are different than c3d objects. C3d objects know what to do. ACAD object need to be told. text and dims can be defined as annotative and the text told to alway be horizontal to the view, but that has to be setup in advance. In a pinch dims can be selected dims >> in the properties palette you can switch the text to read left to right or right to left.

Thanks Joseph for your reply.

Maybe I should have included a little more info.

I did have the dimension set as annotative.  I even went back to the Standard dimstyle and set that to annotative and even then it would not rotate properly in the window.

The problem with me changing the direction of how it reads is that the same dimension is in different viewports and those viewports are rotated differently (i.e. an overall and a "blow-up" of the area).

I don't want to give up yet.

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary, No worries

Annotative stuff can be finicky. Ssometimes an audit can set things right. Is the issue only in this drawing or do you see it in say a test drawing too?

Joseph,

I don't know why I tried this but when I exploded the dimension and then set the definitions for the annotation (i.e. Match Orientation to Layout) to yes it worked.  Probably not the most efficient way but it works and sometimes it is not how you get there it is that you got there.

Thanks for your help.

Gary
