Detaching Excel Data Link

In our template, there is an Excel table that I want to delete because it never should have been in the template in the first place, but I can't use the xref manager to delete it.  As the bottom of the xref manager it says can't detach, reload or unload.  I deleted the table from the drawing and still can't detach it.  I logged in as Tony on the same computer used to create link, and still can't deleted it.  What do I need to do to delete it?  I have attached a screen shot.

Because the table is attached as a data link you can't remove it from the X-Ref manager. You need bring up the data link manager by typing "data link" go to the file under links, right click and delete.

I have this issue too, but I can't delete the link. I get an error saying it's being used. The path is from someone's local drive that does not exist. Any suggestions. I'm using 2015 LT.
Thanks,
Mike

Do you have a table that is referencing the data link in the drawing? If so, you have to delete the table first then you can delete the date link as stated in previous comments.
