Description Key Format using parameters

Is there a way to change a RAW description such as EC12 +, or EC11 -, to say SWP12 +, SWP11 -

I'm not having much luck using the parameter settings. 1$

I tried Code = EC*, format=SWP1$

That didn't work... I got literally SWP1$ instead of SWP12 +

Is it a space thing?  Do I have to rename all the descriptions to have a space before the parameter?

i.e. EC 12 +

I'm hoping this isn't the case and some form of wildcard can be use.

Not entirely sure I'm following you...  But could maybe a search/replace in Excel (or a text editor, if you're using FBK) work...?  (This would need to be done prior to importing the data into C3D.)

I guess I'm mainly trying to figure out how to use the parameters 1$ 2$ etc.

within description keys.  I've seen some examples used for changing the full descriptions for trees from

say.. TREE 12 PINE to 12" PINE

I figured I should be able to rename my EC points there as well.

For example, I have points like EC11 +, EC12 -, etc. I'd like to use description keys to change EC to SWP but keep the remainder.. 11 +, 12 -

Is that not possible?

I seem to be able to change the name but loose the remainder.

The $1 $2 etc. parameters use spaces as a delimiter.

So in the following key:

TREE 12 PINE

$0 = TREE

$1 = 12

$2 = PINE

$+ = 12 PINE

$* = TREE 12 PINE

That's about the only options you have.  There's no way to "split up" stuff unless there's a space.  So you can't use these codes to substitute part of a parameter while leaving the remainder untouched.

Thanks, I was afraid that'd be the case... lol
