Deriving “counter clockwise” azimuth from “clockwise,

Deriving “counter clockwise” azimuth from “clockwise,

I’m wondering if there is a technique to automatically derive the counter clockwise azimuth from the clockwise or vice versa.

Thank you

For Figures and Polylines the direction arrows in your caption will be pointed in the direction the shape or lines were drawn when labels are added.

Draw 2 closed polyline shapes.

1st clockwise direction.

2nd counterclockwise direction.

Label both shapes and arrows should be opposite directions.

For "Parcels" there is a command line prompt for user to specify clockwise or counterclockwise label direction when adding labels but AFAIK, there's no such option for labeling Polylines or Figures.

Simply select the label, right click and select Reverse Label.

The command line is LABELREVERSEBEARING but it works on Azimuths also.

You can reverse a label once it is created by selecting the label and on the Labels context tab, click reverse label.

If you want to create labels that are the reverse angle to the line direction have a look into label expressions.

You can take the normal angle direction and turn it into a reverse angle direction and feed that to a label style.

Angle calculations in expressions are done in radians. 360 deg = 2 * pi radians.

For some reason this doesn't look like it's visible the first time it's played. Try it again if you don't see it.

Another option would be to reverse the lines or polylines (if that's what they are). Type REVERSE at the commandline.
