Deletion of an profile element and replacing with curve.

How can we delete an element within a connected profile.  Please find an example attached.

 

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

There is a delete subentity button on the "edit profile geometry" toolbar.

Note that you cannot delete a profile entity if there is another one which is dependant on it.  In your example the vertical curve is likely a free entity which means that it requires both tangents in order to exist.  The only way to delete one of the tangents is to get rid of the VC first.
