We have project folder prototype that contains a sheet set for the user to use, however a user decided to create one on there own, and can not delete the previously created SS. I removed any connection to any sheet and it still will not delete. Actually, it deletes but recreates itself right afterwards. How do you get rid of these?

You have to make sure that any computer that has connected to that dst file had AutoCAD restarted. AutoCAD keeps a hold of the file even if the dst is closed in the SSM, and will recreate the file if it's deleted.
Hi Joe,
Make sure you close Civil 3D and then go to the folder where DST files are. Then you should be able to delete them.
Thank you gentlemen that worked as expected. Anf now it makes sense too.

Great posts! I have always had this problem and based on the posts, I simply closed AutoCAD and was then able to delete the DST file. Thanks, all!
Great to see ghost threads being revived...😉

Hello,
I have gone through the above-mentioned steps, even having all PCs restart Acad, but the little bugger dst file will not die. In 2 seconds it recreates itself.
Please. Is there any new information with regards to ridding a plan set of this monstrosity?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Roger

I too tore my hair out trying to delete and even rename a .dst file and can confirm that AlmasSuljevic has the correct procedure.
1) Shut down AutoCAD.
2) Go into windows file explorer (or whatever they call it nowadays).
3) Delete the .dst file.
That should do it. If not, then maybe AutoCAD is still technically running in the background on your server, or some other voodoo phenomenon. A that point ask your I.T. folks to fix that for you. But honestly, I don't think you will have to go farther than the 3 steps listed above.
