Data Shortcut Pipe Networks Layer issue

When creating a Data Shortcut of a Pipe Network the layer of the pipe and structure objects in the profile view are switching to the current layer each time I open the drawing. If I switch all the objects to the correct layer then save the drawing or resynchronize they revert back to the current layer upon reopen. HAs anyone else encountered this and do you have a fix?

BTW, I am in 2008 with sp2.

I think that is a common thing. It has done it to me on every machine in the office. One for sure fix is to unload the network, change your current layer to the correct one and reinsert the network. Easy fix if you don't have it labeled already or don't have a lot of labels. Not sure if you go into the drawing setting (when you right click on the drawing name in Toolspace settings tab) and setting the Object Layers will force it to the correct layer when you sync the network.
