DYNAMIC SCALE BAR DECIMAL PLACES

I have been messing around with the dynamic scale bars in 2013 and was wondering if anyone knows where they are getting their decimal places from?

I can change it in the scale properties, but if I change the viewport scale, the scale symbols revert back to 5 decimal places.

I can get it to change sometimes if I change the units of the drawing, but it doesn't seem to be consistent.

I believe the bar scale precision is coming from UNITS settings. Invoke UNITS command and adjust the precision settings there and re-add your bar scale.
