Cut follows surface?

Is there a subassembly that has the option for a cut to follow a surface? What I need to do is this: when a rock cut reaches the rock surface, I would like the cut to follow the rock surface for a given distance, and then through the overburden at a specified slope. The overburden depth varies, so stripping isn't the best solution. I was able to do this in LDD, but I don't see a subassembly that is programmable to do this. I figured out how to do this another way (I think), but it would involve several steps, and wouldn't be dynamic.

Somehow, I missed the parameter for the stripping on the daylightrockcut subassembly. Problem solved!
