Cut / Fill Map

Hi, I am trying to create a map/plot that will display the cut / fill areas of two surfaces with labels that state cut and fill elevations (ex. a contour line that says Cut 1' or however it labels it..)

Also In the cut areas I want the minors to bed red and the the major to be yellow and for fills I would like the minors to be blue and the majors to be green.. I am not sure what the easiest way of doing this is..

Thanks

Hi dibr0804,

I believe you may find this article interesting. http://beingcivil.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/02/color-cutfill-surface-labels.html

Thats exactly what I want, but is there a way instead of having the labels colored I could color the contours as well?

For that I would suggest using user-Defined Contours. Please see following article which explains User-Defined contours it in greater detail:http://cwcivil3d.blogspot.com/2006/11/user-defined-contours.html

This also solved my same issue, however, I am getting the "cut" labels in the fill area, along with the "fill" labels.  Do you know what would cause that?

Thanks,

Kevin

Almas,

I believe what you meant to recommend was a contour analysis. This allows the contours to be colored based on different elevation ranges. The user defined contours allow a contour of any elevation to be created.
